By accessing backstory.cc, you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, please don't use the site. These terms cover use of the public site only. Separate written agreements govern any creative services we deliver to clients.

Use of the site

You may browse the site, read our case studies, submit inquiries, and share links to our pages. You agree not to:

  • Scrape, copy, or republish our work or copy without written permission.
  • Submit false, misleading, or automated form submissions.
  • Probe, scan, or attempt to compromise the security of the site or any system it relies on.
  • Use the site in any way that violates applicable law.

Intellectual property

The films, photography, design work, copy, and brand marks shown on backstory.cc are owned by Backstory Creative or licensed from our clients and partners. Don't use them outside of personal viewing without our written permission.

If you believe content on the site infringes your rights, email hello@backstory.cc with the specifics and we'll respond.

Inquiries and proposals

Submitting the contact form starts a conversation. It doesn't create a contract or guarantee that we'll take on the project. Any work we do for you will be governed by a separate written agreement.

No warranty

backstory.cc is provided “as is” and “as available.” We aim for the site to be accurate, useful, and online, but we don't guarantee it will be uninterrupted, error-free, or fit for any specific purpose.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent allowed by law, Backstory Creative is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising out of your use of the site. Our total liability for any direct claim related to the site is limited to one hundred U.S. dollars (US $100).

Third-party links

Some pages link to third-party sites (Instagram, Vimeo, etc.). We don't control those sites and aren't responsible for their content or practices. Read their terms before you engage with them.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. Any dispute will be resolved in the state or federal courts of Fresno County, California.

Changes

We may update these terms from time to time. The “Effective” date at the top of the page reflects the most recent change. Continued use of the site after a change means you accept the new terms.
